OUR BAKER AND OUR BREADOur baker of many years, Daniel Rivat, has broken a bone in his right wrist, which is currently in plaster.
Apart from the mixing of the dough, bread making the way that we do it is a very physical and very \"hands on\" craft - each loaf is shaped by hand.
As a result we will not have our usual range of breads for several weeks.
We hope that you will bear with us and with Daniel and we will let you know as soon as we get a sense of when he will be back and baking.
Once Nicky is beyond catering a very large wedding the weekend of 17/18 of July, she plans to make brioche rolls and rosemary foccacia on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, for our sandwich menu and for sale in Norwich and Woodstock.

COFFEECoffee from our new supplier, Barrington Coffee Roasting Company, is meeting with rave reviews, particularly espresso drinks.
We have just completed our second training session at their place in the Berkshires, and are absolutely convinced that they are the real deal, and have an amazing feel for what they do.
We believe that our espresso drinks are now as good as the best that you will find anywhere in the US and better than any that you will find within a hundred or more miles of the Upper Valley
We will begin selling beans in retail bags in November

FARMERS MARKETSWe have I believe 5 Hanover Farmer’s markets left this year. Please come and support the market between 3+6 pm every Wednesday in the parking lot off Lebanon Street behind Talbot’s. There is great music, wonderful fruit, vegetables, crafts, easy parking and of course us!
We also support the Woodstock Farmer’s market-although we do not sell there. We particularly enjoy the produce from Nancy at Tweed Farm - we have featured her quail and mushrooms at our July Supper Club and On The Edge Farm whose lamb we will be serving at the August 29th Supper Club, and West River Creamery, who make awesome raw milk cheeses that have great character.

LOCAL PRODUCEWe are taking advantage of the local produce available to us in our weekly menus and featuring salads and vegetables from Killdeer Farm-Norwich, Gypsy Meadow-Plainfield and Your Farm-Fairlee. Over the next few weeks we expect to continue wonderful lettuces, late but amazing heirloom tomatoes and sweet corn.
